OK, so I haven’t exactly been the most productive blogger in the last month or so. Its been more like radio silence on this page for a while but I’m back and ready to give you my favorites for April and kick start the blogging bug again 🙂
This was very easy. These products have crept their way into my everyday makeup bag without me even realising and I’m racking my brain as to what the hell I was using before?! So here we go…
Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation – I have heard lots of great things about this foundation on Instagram so decided to give it a go. I have it in the shade Ivory which is a really good match for my skin tone. Its medium coverage but easily build-able if you wanted a more high coverage look. This is the sort of foundation that you don’t feel like you are wearing, doesn’t cake on your skin and leave you face looking fresh and healthy.
Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Pallette – Oh my god oh my god oh my god 🙂 The tones of these eye shadows are perfect for pretty much any occasion. I have worn them to work (top row) and then created more of a smokey eye with the darker tones on the bottom. You can pretty much mix and match any of the colours so the looks you can create are endless. They are really pigmented and I haven’t been wearing any eye shadow primer and they aren’t creasing! Score!
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer – I am a BIG fan of the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and have said many times that I will never use anything else. Well, it looks like I will be eating my words as the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer is pretty much on par! A bit like Ronseal, its does exactly what it say on the tin. Illuminating under the eye (we could all do with a bit of that) and full coverage to cover up those pesky spots. Its a really blend-able formula and doesn’t crease under the eyes.
Clinique Cheek Pop Blush ‘Melon Pop’ – Firstly I love the packaging. It’s so cute and the blush is formed into a little flower design. Secondly its not how I imagined! Its very hard and not pigmented, but I love that about it. You really have to work your brush into it to get any colour but its completely buildable. Its a subtle ‘pop’ of colour on your cheeks and looks very natural. I’m looking forward to trying some other colours of these 🙂
Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara – There has been a lot of hype about this launch in the UK and my gorgeous friend Cat works for them so I was lucky enough to get a sample of this mascara to try! If I’m honest I really think this is more lengthening than voluminous. If I compare it to Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara which does both this is definitely more lengthening. Not a problem and it lengthens really well but I think I would need to do a couple of layers to get more volume.
Vichy Purete Thermale Make Up Remover – Hands down the best makeup remover I have tried. Its oil based so very good at getting waterproof make up off and as you can see by the picture I have finished it! Its usually split so you need to give it a good shake before you use it. What I love is that I can put a bit on a cotton pad and it can do both of my eyes, its like the makeup just melts off! Its a bit on the pricey side of £11 per bottle but I think its lasted me over a month so worth it.
Simple Micellar Cleansing Water – I have sensitive skin when it comes to cleansers. I have tried lots of different micellar waters and this is the only one that doesn’t make me look I have some sort of skin disease (ewww i know!!) I just love this as a very quick and easy way to clean and cleanse my face when I’m in a rush.
Sanctuary Spa Radiance Exfoliator & 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask – I’m not usually a fan of the Sanctuary range as its very perfumed and seems to irritate my skin, however I saw this new range in Boots the other day and thought I would give it a go. The combination of these two together on my T Zone is great. The clay detox mask tingles as it dries (I have no idea if that’s a good thing but feel like its doing something) and my skin is clean and clear after its washed off. Not bad considering I thought I didn’t like Sanctuary!
Oral-B 3D White Toothpaste – I’m very skeptical when it comes to ‘whitening’ toothpastes but I have actually noticed a difference with this one. Now I don’t drink coffee or smoke so its not like I have ridiculously stained teeth or anything but they generally just look a bit brighter.
Herbal Essences Clearly Naked Dry Shampoo – This smells amazing!! It doesn’t seem to leave that annoying white powder/grey hair look either which is the only downside to dry shampoo. Will definitely be re purchasing when I’m finished, my new go to 🙂
OGX Coconut Water – My hair is like straw at the moment where I have it ombre on the ends but this coconut hydration mist has really helped get it back to its normal self. It also doubles up as a good de-tangle spray, not sure if its meant to but its helps!
Just a couple of last bits that arent beauty related to add…but oh my how I have been enjoying them this month!
Downton Abbey – My friend Charl used to always talk about this programme and I wasn’t really interested but I have been working from home so much recently that I needed something to have on in the background. I clicked past this a few times on Sky but then caved and decided to watch it and now I’m on Series 5 and cant stop watching it! The outfits are incredible. They dress up for dinner every day and wear the most amazing jewelry , its so glamorous!
GOLD BARS!!! – Do any of you remember these when you were younger? My corner shop has just started to stock these and its going to cause massive issues with my diet! They are soooooo yummy. Its just a biscuit with white chocolate o it but for some reason I cant stop eating them! Give them a go, you wont be disappointed!
So if you have made it this far then congratulations. This was a bit of a marathon and Ill try and keep it short and sweet next time but I had quite a few favorites this month.
Love & hugs
